Gianluca Cerri is an Emergency Medicine physician known for his unwavering commitment to professionalism, integrity, and patient-centered care. With over twenty years of extensive clinical and administrative experience, Cerri has established himself as a dedicated practitioner and dynamic leader in the healthcare field.
Born in Milan, Italy, Cerri embarked on his academic journey at Nicholls State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He pursued his medical education at Louisiana State University Medical School, completing his Internal Medicine Internship and Residency, where he also served as Chief Resident from 1993 to 2000. Continuing his specialization, Cerri underwent Emergency Medicine Residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical School from 2005 to 2008.
Throughout his career, Cerri has held various roles, including Emergency Medicine Physician, AEMS Director, Flight Physician, and Expert Medical Witness. He has been a Clinical Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine and actively involved in professional organizations such as the American College of Emergency Medicine, American Academy of Emergency Medicine, Louisiana Medical Society, and the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Gianluca Cerri is deeply passionate about his family and enjoys spending quality time with them. He also finds fulfillment in practicing Emergency Medicine in rural settings, indulging in amateur sport biking and motocross, and maintaining an active lifestyle through weightlifting. Additionally, his interest in Computer Science in Healthcare underscores his commitment to leveraging technology for improving patient outcomes and healthcare delivery.
